Insurance Claims Process Made Easy
If your home has suffered storm damage and you need to file an insurance claim, a million things might be running through your mind – and they might not necessarily be particularly helpful. Our main objective is to make the insurance claims process as easy as possible. So to save you from the hassle, here are the answers to the questions you might have.
Where Do I Start?
Begin by scheduling your free inspection courtesy of KAT Construction, LLC. We are a storm damage restoration company offering a wide range of related services. We will conduct a thorough and fair assessment of the storm damage your roof may have suffered. The findings will then be properly documented so you can use them for your claims.
Who Should I Contact?
Contact your insurance company and provide them details such as your policy number, the extent of damage as assessed by the roofing contractor, and the date of the incident. It’s good practice to make your calls immediately after a storm.
What Happens After the Call?
The insurance company will assign a representative known as the adjuster and will provide you the adjuster’s name, contact details and your inspection schedule. Note that this inspection will be for the insurance company’s reference and is different from the initial inspection. The adjuster will verify the validity of your insurance claim during this step.
Who Else Should I Inform?
Ideally, a claims specialist representative from KAT Construction, LLC should also be present on the day of the appointment to ensure the adjuster takes note of all the damage. This will give you a stronger case in favor of your insurance claim, as well as inform you whether you need other services such as storm damage siding restoration.
How Do We Settle the Right Amount?
The amount covered by the insurance company for your restoration project will depend on the adjuster’s assessment of your home. Having agreed on a fair amount, you may consult with us regarding the materials and colors of the products you want to use.
What Should I Do Once the Claim Has Been Approved?
Once the insurance company has sent you the claim report and the first two checks signaling that your claim has been approved, we will help you check for errors. If the content of the itemized report checks out, we can now proceed with the roof restoration.
When Will I Receive the Final Check?
You’ll be receiving the final check from your insurance company upon the completion of the project.
Should you need additional services, such as storm damage window restoration, we will be more than happy to assist you.
